Harvest Field Trips to Dearborn Market

Harvest Field Trips to Dearborn Market are a wonderful excursion for any school or organization. At Dearborn Market, we want to promote a happy non-scary experience for each child to remember. Your group will also have the educational opportunity of exploring how things grow and how vegetables are harvested. You will not find ghosts or other spooks anywhere on the property that might frighten small children.

Harvest Field Trips include:

A Farm Hayride from our Main building to our Pumpkin Patch. While in the patch, children may pick ONE small sugar pumpkin to take back with them. They may also try and find their way out of our non-scary Hay Bale Maze and our exciting Corn Field Maze. There will be photo stations for photo opportunities in both the pumpkin patch and within our Garden Center in order to capture your group’s special day. Once back at the Garden Center each child will receive FREE:

  • A Pumpkin Sticker, a Harvest coloring book, crayons and a spider ring
  • Apple Juice and one Cookie
  • A Halloween “Trick or Treat” Bag in which to take their pumpkin home
  • 1 Large Pumpkin for your group to take home to decorate your classroom or organization

Price per child: $5.00 includes all of the above and two Dearborn Market Representatives to assist you. We ask that you supply a minimum of two adult chaperones for your group. The entire Halloween outing generally takes about 1 hour and may be scheduled either in the morning or early afternoon.

If it should rain on your scheduled day, come anyway! We will provide a dry area in our retail green house for children to choose a pumpkin from our “indoor” pumpkin patch.

Your group will also be able to:

  • Decorate their pumpkin with stickers and markers;
  • Enjoy apple tasting of the various kinds of apples available in the Fall;
  • Enjoy being read a non-scary harvest story such as The Tale of Johnny Apple Seed;
  • Enjoy juice and one cookie and take home a sticker, coloring book, crayons, spider ring and “Trick or Treat” bag.
