In 1996, Anthony "TW" Walker and his family gathered around the kitchen table, determined around kitchen table, determined to a Cajun seasoning blend that would delight customers at their local deli. After getting the proportions right, they tossed all of the ingredients into a giant pickle jar and had their young sons, Jack and Joe, mix it by rolling the jar back and forth to each other. With the seasoning blend completed, all they needed was a name. Drawing inspiration from TW's well known dish, "World Famous Slap Ya Mama Atomic Potatoes, "his wife, Jennifer, insisted that seasoning be called Slap Ya Mama. With the approval of TW's mother, Wilda Marie, the Slap Ya Mama brand was born.
