1 lb Di Bruno ziti pasta
1 14 oz container Bowl & Basket ricotta cheese
2 large Bowl & Basket eggs
1 16 oz package Bowl & Basket whole milk mozzarella shredded cheese
½ cup Di Bruno parmesan cheese, shredded
2 lbs Certified Angus Beef ground beef
1 24oz jar Botticelli Marinara sauce
Salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
Fresh basil, as garnish (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and lightly spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with cooking spray.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente (1-2 minutes less than specified time on box).
- While water is boiling, combine ricotta, eggs, 1 ½ cups mozzarella and the parmesan cheese and mix well. When pasta has finished cooking, toss with the cheese mixture.
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off fat. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer on low until ready to use.
- Layer 1/3 of the meat sauce into the bottom of the prepared casserole dish, followed by half the pasta mixture, another third of the meat sauce, the remaining pasta mixture, and then finally topped off with the rest of the meat sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove foil and top pasta with remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden brown in places.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
